Life and works of Pope Urban V
This itinerary retraces the life and work of Guillaume Grimoard, a native of Grizac (48) who became Pope under the name of Urbain V. Arriving from Nasbinals, the route passes through the villages of Le Monastier, Palhers and Grèzes before heading back towards Mende. But there’s nothing to stop hikers making a detour to the Déroch waterfall when they’re on Aubrac, or to St Bonnet de Chirac just after Le Monastier.

You’ll discover regional know-how, a unique cultural and natural heritage, and pass through Natura 2000 areas with exceptional flora and fauna.
